Villanelle style

'Killing Eve is the most fashionable show on TV.' Vogue

Steph Yotka April 2018

Since Villanelle flounced around in her fluffy, pretty pink Molly Goddard dress looking like a cotton candy Princess with heavy combat boots epitomizing the dichotomy of her character the powder pink organza dress has become every girls or should I say woman's dream. Well if not everyone's it's certainly mine. This iconic TV moment is still influencing our style. There's something about the pink organza baby doll dress that reminds us all of the little girls we once were. Even if we were tom boys this is covered by the big combat boots! I remember many a pretty floral dress of mine was covered in mud because I was making a mud pie in the garden with my sister in my best dress! If not a tom boy and definitely not murderers like Villanelle, it is fun to show we have an edgy stronger side. We can all dream right? So this look embodies the duality of every woman's persona.

There are so many amazing pink dresses around at the moment I could write a book about them but here's a few of my favourites. I am not sure of the availability of them now as they seem to be flying from the shelves but as I write they are all available.....

Feminine and Fierce

I must also say that it is not simply in pink or impersonating Villanelle the mix of feminine and fierce can be found all over fashion. Think pretty floral dresses and cowboy boots, dainty tops and denim cut offs.... its a timeless style that doesn't appear to be going anywhere fast...

H&M

Looking at the amount of material on Villanelle's dress these dresses can be found where you may least expect to find them. It makes sense that the one that most closely matches it on the high street can be found in the pregnancy MAMA section!

Here are some of my instagram friends Marianna @thefword.marianna and Wendy @what_wendy_wore absolutely rocking the recent £34.99 MAMA organza dress:

Happy pink

Pink is such a happy colour; soft, feminine and playful. We've all needed a bit of this at the moment so it is lovely to see so many pink options around at the moment.

Mix it with a bit of grit and these pretty pink styles are spot on. To get the full Villanelle style, instead of heavy boots I would pair these dresses with heavy sandals instead for every day. My choice would be some Dr. Martens Official sandals but there are so many lovely chunky sandals to choose from and I'll show you my choice of those another day....
